Don't give up hope! At least both Tokio games made it to Windows. ROM hacking Japanese Windows games is much easier than doing the same for NEC-platform titles. Judging from Artdink's origins in assembly programming, going in to fix the original versions up would be mad frustrating for most hackers just wanting to get English text working.

Natsume's bringing A-Train 3DS over here, another small tem just put A-Train 9 on Steam. If you've been playing recent city-builders like SimCity 4/Anno/Tropico, then A9 will be in that ballpark as far as sandbox potential and complexity goes. The 3DS game is made for franchise neophytes, though that doesn't mean the game systems are compromised (moreover, the game's mostly a colorful re-skin...dat secretary). Keep in mind that the A9 version we have on Steam is 1.0, not 2.0 or 3.0, which really sucks and, yet again, shows how localizers continue to botch the job after A-Train HX on the X360 bombed. Good thing A-Train games are getting localized more than ever before, as it must mean sales potential is there.

A-Train 7, though buggy at launch and more of a side-step for the franchise (taking the old isometric perspective to its limits), actually introduces some neat features, like pedestrian cars on the road, that were voted out of games as recent as A9. It sure is gorgeous and has great music, but there's other good reasons it should get localized.
