they are *slightly less prominent, and that is why I prefer this monitor to my PVMs.

Also note that I messed with the deflection settings in the service menu to fit overscan onto the screen, so you'd have to compare it to a PVM with that adjustment made.

Here's a shot I just made at the same distance, but where the camera was set up for the picture on the CRT.

CLEARLY visible, but not overbearing. Just how I like it.
