You can buy three r36s for the price of a cheap used ds lite and still get a better experience out of it for 90% of ds games you don't need the touch screen anyway. And excluding ds which isn't even retro, every other console is more enjoyable there than in a ds. Let alone portmaster or streaming.

Is not just the materials or the screen or the additional buttons. The software is simply unparalleled to anything the DS can offer.
And this is the bare minimum you can get nowadays.
