I always play on Ultra-Violence or the second highest difficulty as a default. Unless the difficulty turns into "not fun, have to savescum all the time" in which case I'd rather tone the difficulty down a bit and not-savescum.

I tried Nightmare and got reasonably far into E1 but it was just too much.

To each their own, anon. I can still enjoy the game just fine.
>I quite enjoyed these conflicts between heaven and hell, with heaven harboring a corrupt bastion of people all along.
I was reminded of Reaper of Souls with the initial screen reveals so it was funny to find the Makyrs doing just that near the end. I don't really need anything more than a sentance for context in these games, the less the better IMO.

Started playing HeXen, I chose Mage, and the combat was starting to annoy me at first. Then, I moved on a bit and finally got the ice shards. Cast that first ice wave and BAM! I got hooked instantly. This is amazing. The lighting is impressive, the level design is cool, the music is good, the enemies are awesome. Hexen is fucking great. It's very similar to Strife in the way that it uses inventory and level design, which is fine by me.
