Apparently bsnes v108.1+ has overclocking now that doesn't increase the video or audio rate or break the games.

Just use higan, it's free and "the best" considering that it's free, you only need a semi-decent computer.
Also you'll be able to play on a modern screen. (though I just hook it up to my pc crt over 480p, which imo looks pretty good to me)
