it's a series of 3D platformers like Mario/Banjo etc., except with the twist that the collectibles run away from you and some guile is needed to catch them. The first game mostly had you relying on stealth while in 3 you get "transformations" which make ape catching easier - to make up for this, there are more monkeys with more intelligent behavior
