>A massive leap backwards in terms of screen ghosting
RP3/3+/Flop screen has the same ghosting and no one even noticed until recently. I had an RP3+ and thought I noticed the ghosting when I had it, but it was still a far better screen than most other handheld screens that didn't have the ghosting, so take that for what it's worth.
>screen discoloration, faulty triggers
Already fixed. Well, the triggers anyways. I've seen that FF7 pic where the colors look worse on the RP4, but every other pic or video comparison I've seen had the RP4 with better colors. Not sure what the cause of the disparity is.
>overly noisy fan that occasionally stops working,
Anything it needs the fan for is stuff the RP3+ couldn't run to begin with. I've also only heard of two people having issues with the fan stopping so far, which sucks for them but it isn't indicative of a widespread issue yet. If there have been more cases since then fair enough.
>and incredibly short battery life
It has better battery life than the 3+, it only eats shit with 1h45m for high end PS2 the RP3+ couldn't couldn't run to begin with because of the fan kicking into overdrive. On a game-per-game basis (as in games the RP3+ could run at fullspeed) it gets better battery life due to the more power efficient chip and bigger battery, topping out at just under 13 hours vs just under 11 for the RP3+. It's only when you need the fan that it starts chewing through battery.
