I'll eventually pick this up, but I'm having a hard time deciding between the US release and the Japanese. I hear the US version takes away the cool window dressing like virtual shelves, which is part of the point of these namco museums.

And I'd like to play Valkyrie no Boken and Quest of Ki but I don't know if those will be on the US releases. At the same time, the US versions will have translated stuff like legacy of the wizard, and it'll be easier to assemble packs instead of pick-n-choose DLC...

I haven't played it too much. I think the thing I liked the most about it was the serious-looking character art. It felt like an average beatemup, though I've been meaning to get back into it.

This game's quite the adventure. The later levels absolutely kill me though. I don't think I've made it past the floating castle.

I picked up Namco Museum 2 the other day at ye ol' game store, but I still have to hook up my PS2 to give Gaplus a whirl. I actually bought the compilation because I wanted to try out Dragon Buster of all things, lol.

Galaxian is like Space Invaders with all the flaws ironed out of it.

Legend of Valkryie is currently my favorite Namco arcade game. It's lovely in about every way:
-lots of fun weapons to buy
-magic spells to discover to wreck bad guy shit
-big, adventurous levels that don't repeat and have new gimmicks in each one
-quick boss fights

Is there a way to do a fast turn in these games? I try playing AC2 but missing an enemy and turning around to find them takes forever.

Thank goodness Namco offered some input - those Ms. Pacmen are hideous! Yikes.

Burning Force is probably my favorite forward-scrolling arcade shooter.

I am a big fan of the Namco Museum series on the PS1, and my favorite is currently Valkyrie no Densetsu/Legend of Valkyrie. It's just a fun action-centric Zelda-esque game.

Though the games are more iffy, I really dig the worlds of Genpei Toumaden and Tower of Druaga.
