That's why they change the translations for future games, oh wait they didn't, they know they fuck it up and that's why they chill out with future translations the accents are still there but not even as close as bad as IV was.
Fuck off with that shit, IV translation was bad, it doesn't matter how much work was there for the translation, if you are playing a game where you have to read you want the information to be clear as possible, check pic related for instance.
Also the DS cut the party chat, thankfully there's a fan project to translate the PS1 version.
