Thanks you two. I honestly forgot about most of the problems with the CRT flatscreens. I didn't know HD was the main issue for those (thank you for teaching me that) but I remember seeing a lot of problems with many non-HD larger sized units, too. It's probably just because they were cheap quality. They're more rare in my area than other places though and it seems people mostly just bought ones made by the same cheap manufacturer whose name is long lost to me. I used to often see people pick these particular ones up off the curb and come back 30 minutes later to put it back. I know they weren't HD because I was in the stores a lot trying to find a good small TV when everyone seemed to just want big & bigger. Hell I knew a guy at the time with a CRT HDTV that was wide as a sedan is long but I digress.

So anyway, I find Anon 1's opinion on the input lag very relatable because how my regional economy purchased their TV's. Anon 2 helped me understand why I thought they were categorically good for gaming yesterday.

I asked my friend who owns an appliance store about why nobody was buying then-new CRT flatscreens where we live and he said that nobody in our region was buying TV's or monitors and mostly people just window shopped because they were interested in plasma hype but didn't know how much that costs as-of-then. The result came usually 1-2 TV a week to some person who just wanted to replace their broken TV and thus usually got a cheap one. Monitors on the other hand were all high-end expensive CRT because the only people buying monitors wanted those and those kinds were a rare purchase already.

I go into all of this detail because I've been trying to get a chance to reply to you for hours and its been stewing in my brain and I don't want to have yet another thing go to waste today. It's just been one of those days so please accept my wall of text. Have a nice day, gotta go.
