One of the key improvements of VF2 was the jump from 30fps to 60fps. The original Virtua Fighter model 1 game was a 30fps title. So were all of the home ports. The Model 2 arcade board allowed VF2 to run at 60fps. Though Tekken actually was released before VF2 and was 60fps. Which was one of the things that made Tekken stand out. >>8682997

>Virtua Fighter was the game that defined 3d fighting as you know it. it was a drastically different formula from Street Fighter. One of the VF1 devs moved to Namco and made Tekken. Tekken basically copied the formula, while adding fun things and combos.

Seiichi Ishii worked on Virtua Fighter, Tekken 1 and Tekken 2, Tobal no. 1, Tobal no. 2, Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring and The Bouncer.
