I put these two posts side-by-side to point out how similar what you listed is to what you criticized.

You're simply mad Reddit doesn't like the particular sequels you like (in the same series which you claim to be "mostly Reddit tier"). You didn't even list any franchises outside of your original critique. If anything, your tastes are extremely proximal to what you consider "Reddit tier".

If you were mad that some obscure/niche game X was going unnoticed but Reddit was instead paying attention to game Y and you had an argument about why its gameplay/experience is unique (e.g. Electric Underground's videos on shmups) then it would be worth hearing what you have to say. Instead, I could probably Photoshop together a collage of Reddit posts praising the particular sequels you listed and you would come back here tomorrow with a new list of games you "totally like because it's my original uninfluenced opinion, guys" because you somehow base your identity on not necessarily being original (because the games you listed were so similar to the "Reddit games" you dislike) but just being sort of an asshole that likes something that is SLIGHTLY different enough to feel a sense of elevated self-worth over people who you want to feel superior to.

The point is that it's fine to like games. Even if they're Reddit tier. So long as they're things that give you some sort of enjoyment. Who cares. But claiming some sort of superiority to other people when your tastes are in reality just extremely proximal to theirs means the energy you're using to be angry on the internet should be spent somewhere else. Or not. And you can just spend your whole life being mad about nothing. I don't even know if any of your real life friends will even remember if it was Silent Hill 2 or Silent Hill 3 that you liked. They might just remember you were just an asshole who didn't produce anything valuable.
