Spyro Enter the Dragonfly is a pretty big one for me. I know it's worse than the PS1 games but they got enough of it right for me to be able to sit back and enjoy exploring the levels and chill out to the music, just like the PS1 games. The minigames are all ass though.

I would also say Crash Nitro Kart but I refuse to call that game a bad game just because of CTR autists crying over the physics being like 5% different from the first game.

For the record Wrath of Cortex and Twinsanity are fucking terrible

Spyro, Banjo Kazooie and Crash were the first platformers/collectathons that I ever played which were 3d. I have enormous nostalgia for all of them, Spyro the most of all. There's never been a comfier platformer.

Also is there a way to decompile or obtain a collection of the assets from the game?
I remember that Spyro uses dark voodoo magic for the skyboxes and such (The skybox being one model and no textures, it is textured per vertex)
There are 'HD' renders of the skyboxes posted every now and then, and I'm sure it was made by someone who browses the chans who decompiled it IIRC.

Reason I ask is I want to have a go at recreating some of the assets from the first game in high poly (namely keep my gamedev skills fresh), and it's a pain in the ass to get decent reference shots from ingame & from low quality youtube videos.
