If you've been using flat panels for the last 20 years – especially high refresh rate panels – then CRT's look like strobe lights. I've gotten used to CRT's again but even then I can still see black flickering in the corner of my eye

It's not retardation. If you've been used to 60+hz flat panels for the last 20 years, then 50hz on a CRT looks like a strobe light because of the refresh

HDMI on a flatscreen. It achieves what you want whilst being lighter, doesn't get electromagnetic interference from your fan, and you don't see scanning in the corners of your eye

It's got the sharp pixels all the same but is thinner, lighter, and doesn't flicker as much. Get an OLED and the blacks will be better than a CRT's too. The brainlet is somebody who spends hundreds if not thousands on PVM's instead of grabbing a $0 consumer CRT to play with composite.
