Why is this game so praised, /vr/?
I had such great memories about it, but I'm replaying it on my 3DS and it just feels... wrong.
The story is shallow, the conversations are stupid, the combat is either frustrating or stupidly easy (you can kill ANY boss by spamming Popoi's magic) and some mechanics are just plain retarded.

Did I become an old bitter guy or this game is just Square's fanwanking?

Hey /vr/, I'm pretty new to the world of retro in the sense i started my collection 2 months ago. so far i got an snes and nes and i want alllll the jrpg's but i don't wanna spend alllll the money on them. i dropped 52 on super mario rpg and stressed out over the idea of spending this much and more for games like earthbound, secret of mana, the two final fantasies, and so on. I found a site for earthbound zero for 45 tho which is pretty great. What do you guys recommend to a broke college student trying to get his good carts? also is secret of gaia worth or nah?
