Maybe you guys can help me out. I want to play Wolf3D but I'm terrible with directions and I keep getting myself lost. Are there any source ports or anything that add a map overlay like Doom has?

Where would I go about downloading the sounds used in Wolfenstein 3D?
Google doesn't really help that much.

I've been playing Wolf3D using ecwolf and i'm very surprised on how good it looks.
It's very comfortable to use a USB Joystick (Even though i had to use JoyToKey because the game seems to not recognize the controller).

I'm very curious, /vr/, because i was like almost 2 years old when this game came out and i never see any Ads about the game.
How bad it was received? I remeber a long time ago some documentary about videogames and how important and controversial this game was.
