Schbibinman Zero is pretty much "what if Mega Man had boxing gloves?". The level design, enemy placement, pacing, character design, art style is all very MM like. It doesn't play that differently from Zero sections from MMX games. I mean come on, look at the portrait by the life bar. It looks like a recolored MM NES sprite.

I haven't played any of the other Schbibinman games to compare.

Call me insane but I think the classic mega man sprite may be one of nost brilliant sprites ever conceived. Not only is it good from a design stand point but I feel like it carries weight, almost like it has a intense gravity to it. Probably just crazy talk.

Probably this.
It's how Mega Man works at least.

He calls himself co-creator or co-designer of Mega Man. The media then translates this to Inafune being the "series creator. He then doesn't really correct them on this. His claim is a stretch. He was brought onto MM1 team late. He then was asked to do promo art for the game. He is arguing that since he did the more detailed later drawing, he has equal status of creator as Kitamura.

It's not clear exactly what pose Kitamura made for the original pixel art, but it was probably this. If you compare it to the artwork for MM1, it's basically the same. His design is very simple. Inafune is just trying to sound more important than he really is.

And it's entirely possible Kitamura created a rough sketch of a more detailed Mega Man, the handed it to Inafune and told him to draw it like that, but better. If that's true, that would totally destroy any argument he has.

Inafune, Yasuaki Kishimoto, and Naoya Tomita worked on animations as well. I'm not sure what else Inafune did for the classic series. I think he did some Robot masters and enemies? I don't know which ones or how many though. Some clarifications on that would be nice.

What he's trying to get at is that Mega Man's face contains 5 colors (clear, white, black, blue, tan) in an 8x8 pixel area, whereas the NES only supported up to 4 on a single 8x8 tile. The trick is not that they made several sprites move in tandem like every video game ever, but that they overlaid extra sprites on Mega Man's face to give him extra colors by stacking 2 tiles from different palettes on top of each other.

Sure, once you state the technique, it's obvious. But please bear in mind this is anything but obvious, it was an innovation, and every little trick that made your game better looking helped edge out the competition.
