Do you guys think DOOM would have been better or worse if Tom Hall's DOOM Bible, which he went on to adapt parts of for ROTT, would have been used? What about if it had actually been the one continuous world as Tom had originally thought it would be when writing said Bible?

Say what you will about Hall but he has creative skill, the Commander Keen series was a huge hit and it was his brainchild on top of Carmack's engine.
