I think it's safe to say that the SNES has the poorest quality standards out of all of Nintendo's hardware when it comes to the packaging. Labels fluctuate from:
10/10- early release, made in Japan
7/10-early release, made in Mexico
5/10-late release, made in Japan/Mexico
1/10- Majesco

Why is there such a fluctuation in quality? This is simply not the situation with N64, NES, Gameboy, Gameboy colour, or Gameboy advance cartridges.

related to this, can somebody please post a high quality close up of the Nintendo Seal of Quality on copies of SMRPG, Final Fight 3, and Mega Man X3? thanks.

I want to play a refreshing video game that's on the SNES. I've played alot of RPGs and platformers for the system. What can /vr/ recommend that is simple, fun, addicting, and not a platformer or RPG?

I love my SNES.

I didn't grow up with a SNES. I got into Vidya later then most because of ultra religious parenting. So I came in around the 64/pokemon craze.

Games I loved to death as a kid were Super mario advance, 2, 3, Link to the past, Donkey Kong Country, and early RPGs like Tales of Phantasia and the Final fantasies.

Being a stupid kid, I didn't ever realize these games I loved so much were ports. And when I found out about the existence of the SNES, I always wanted one. Never got one. Couldn't find them in stores anymore since they'd been discontinued, and never occured to 12 year old me to use the internet.

So later on through high school, got into a ton of emulation, mostly SNES and lived some of those titles I grew up with, I developed a love for 16 bit games in style and system so much that modern games just didn't get me. All my friends called me backwards, and weird for it, but I didn't care.

About 4 years ago I managed to actually get a real SNES-001 in near pristine (Not yellowed) condition and have taken good care of it ever sense. I started collecting games for it, and thats when the retro boom hit and things skyrocketed.

Call me crazy, but I'm not letting that stop me. I know I can just emulate the carts with ease, but because I finally have the system I always wanted, I want to actually get the carts for it and live out the years I never got to as a kid. I end up shelling out more money then an adult should on these things, but hey. It makes me happy.

I know in ten years or so these carts may not even work, but its wish fufillment. I can at least say I got to play them on the original ahrdware, and thats good enough for me.
