A very slight bit (maybe, it's hard to tell) but I use this little thing inbetween the xbox and a direct component cable so you can get Digital Optical out of it, one thing's for sure, don't use 3rd party component packs (I mean the ones that are like the HD pack from microsoft) they are far worse when it comes to signal quality
