Mega Man X is story-driven, especially during the PS1 era. If you actually read some of that text, you'll see what I mean. Later Mega Man games such as ZX and especially the Zero series are heavily story-driven as well. Comparing X's story to Mario's "story" is like comparing Star Wars to Looney Tunes. You can't say it doesn't belong there just because of the genre. It's like saying watching Batman: TAS for the story is stupid because it's a cartoon. I'm not saying it's more important than gameplay, but it's still a valid complaint.

It's also kind of ironic how that other anon mentioned RPG's considering the X series is the only series outside of BN/SF and Legends to get an RPG.
