Look, I can explain it.

A lot of young boys play strong male characters but then grow up to be corpulent, listless neckbeards with repulsive bodies. They start picking female characters because they can no longer identify with the masculine ideal presented by the male characters.

Either that or they're autogynephiliacs.

I'll make an exception for Threads of Fate where Mint's story was way better.
