/vr/ - Retro Games

/vr/ games with a huge amount of easily missable content, like the Snow Queen route in Persona 1 or the Inverted Castle from SOTN.

Recently found a Japanese copy of P1 in the wild. I own the PSP version already and it's genuinely the least fun SMT game I've ever played, but still the novelty of having it was really cool so I picked it up. I also found FFX International on a separate occasion at a different store and picked it up. Now I'm considering getting a JP PS2.

Is this worth playing if I want to get into SMT/early Persona? Not posting this on /v/ because the thread will just devolve into waifu wars, they can't actually discuss games.

Mainly because of the gripping plot surrounding the adventures of Kei Nanjo and friends. I swear, the death of his butler was truly saddening. I've never cried like I did when I saw that... it's too much.

I remember playing Persona on the PS1, there's a dungeon in the mall in the other world and for some reason I just got stupidly lost in there and was stuck for 8 hours straight trying to get through it.

I played the PSP translation since the US translation of the PS1 version is garbage. At first, I wasn't too attached to the characters, but by the end I really felt for the cast.
