Are there any more PS1 games with religious and mystical themes like pic related and Xenogears?

Hey guys I need some /vr/ certified tips

I'm playing this for the first time. It's also my first SH game and I'm loving it so far, I just need to know a few things.

Is it intended for me to fight most enemies or run from most enemies and only fight when I have to? I feel like I'm burning through resources, but running away from everything doesn't feel like the way the game was supposed to be played.

Also any general tips on what weapons to use, and how to kill stuff efficiently would be great. I'm pretty early on in the game by the way, just put the medallions in the clock tower of the school

Is survival horror over? Will we ever have anything like it again? I almost hope for another huge video game crash so we have a renaissance.

So I just have to ask.

Do the Non-retro ones get any better? I just finished and while it was sort of fun, its honestly horribly underwhelming when compared to something like Resident evil.

Sure, it's got the scares and unsettling bits, but its puzzles were really sparse, and the fact your inventory isnt limited was a huge let down. You can basically find ammo anywhere you need to and blast any monster and still have it to spare for the bosses.

Even the final boss with Sameal was really boring. a couple shots in between running and the guy just went down. I'm going to guess the baby thing is a sequel hook but.. egh.

I just kind of slogged through it.. I guess I expected a lot more out of the series since people praise it so much.

Not sure if this is exactly what you were looking for, but this is the game I think of when I think of loneliness.

Can we have a Silent Hill thread? I had only played 2 and just picked this one up on a whim. So fucking good --- it really is better than 2. That piano puzzle was just brilliant.

also even though they're for ps2, what fatal frame games are the best and do you need to play them in order
