Not really, I'm probably going to blow your mind but all the classes have a set of name that refers particular things.

>All the female Court Mages are named after precious stones
>All male Court Mages are named after Zodiac signs
>All Heavy Infantry dudes are named after big/shelled animales except Ferdinand
>Light Infantry males are named after American Presidents while females are named after actresses
>Male and Female Rangers are named after European Kings/Queens/Rulers
>Male and Female Free Fighters are named after Greek Heroes
>Male Free Mages are named after Stars while Female Free Mages are named after Flowers or Herbs
>Male Imperial Guards are named after famous Generals while Female Imperial Guards are named after Roman Goddesses
>All Tacticians are named after Chinese/Japanese strategists
>All Eastern Guards are named after japanese swordsmen
>All Desert Guards are named after characters from The Arabian Nights
>All Amazons are named after various Heroines
>Male Nomads are named after Mongolian Rulers while Female Nomads are named after middle eastern female literary figures/legends
>Male and Female Holy Orders are named after Catholic Saints
>Ocean women are named after famous Singers
>Privateers are named after seafarers or pirates
>All martial artists are named after Wrestlers
>All Male thieves are named after birds while Female Thieves are named after swift little animals
>All Salamanders are named after Volcanoes
>All Nereids are named after Greek Nymphs
>All Irises have named reminiscent of the sky or atmospheric phenomenons

Regarding Herders, hunters and Molemen I don't really get the references, but I'm sure there's a pattern there too.

RomaSaGa 2 is DEEPer than you'd think, oh and the Seven Heroes' names are anagrams of some of Tokyo's metro stations.
