/vr/ - Retro Games

This is my favorite Castlevania game by a longshot, but I can’t really explain why. SOTN has better visuals, music, a cooler protagonist, a bigger castle. But there’s just some kind of soul or comfy or something about AOS that makes me enjoy it even more.

Is there anyone else here that would rank this one above all the others, or at the very least rank it as the best metroidvania?

Metroidvania all the way. But yes, I started with SOTN

I did however complete and enjoy CV 1,3,4, Bloodlines, and the two for Gameboy

I bought the Advance collection but made the mistake of playing Aria first. I can’t even play the others now, whenever I try, I just want to go back to Aria

Is Aria better than Symphony of the Night? I can’t decide which one I like more. What do you guys think?

I think SOTN has the best music, aesthetics, and lore. But I really love picrel and might actually enjoy it a little more.

Just completed for the first time. I’m convinced it’s the best game ever made for a handheld system

>Beat the Julius mode
>Got 100% of the castle
>Beat boss rush

And I’m already doing a “all souls on hard mode” run.

Seriously, does a better handheld game exist?

I love Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. That is my answer to that statement.
