Yeah, the stages and music from the first game was a nice bonus. That port even had a debug mode you could unlock that would do stuff like show hitboxes.

The Saturn Night Warriors port was great, particularly for its era. It even has some nice bonuses, such as Darkstalkers 1 versions of the backgrounds and a debug mode with a hitbox viewer.
