For me? Red Alert 2 every day for about 5 months straight and not winning a single match on westwood online because I suck ass at RTS games.

There's a massive amount of RTS games that all vary in style and substance but what do you personally consider the best of the genre, while you can say something like Warcraft 3 is the best due to it's robust custom map selection or something like Total Anihilation for it's (for the time) technical marvel, I believe Red Alert 2 has a near perfect balace of fun, style, and ease to pick up and play while still being complex enough for more strategic play.
