My first time being sent to the office was in 1st grade when I said "That sucks" when the team name I was in was "Silver snakes." Didn't like it, so I said outloud "That sucks" and the teacher went bug-eyed.
And I got singled out, acting like I just purposefully broken a window or some shit.
And NO ONE was sticking up for me. Because it's one tyrannical teacher and 20+ kids who don't know any better than each other.
I mean, really? "That sucks"? That's worth fucking me up over when I'm 6?
That's not even namecalling, that's frustration with a SITUATION.

That's the part of being a kid that can go hang.
If the whole school scenario were slightly different, most kids wouldn't remember it as being such an awful bore.
Like, what is this idea that you should spend so many years of your life mostly around kids EXACTLY your own age?
Why did we all agree on that?
It's basically a breeding ground for social-disease to flourish. The antibodies of higher and lower age brackets never get in, and never get to solve anything.

I can't imagine most of the world we're looking at right now could be THIS awful without what I just described being so widespread.
So I'm glad this whole mass grooming scandal is happening. Most of all that so many boomers are alive to see it.
