>I feel similar with my RG35XX H. No real point in two sticks since everything it runs only had a single stick at most.
I am a fucking huge noob to chinkhelds, I have broken hands, I need reading glasses to make the most of the 3.5" screen glued to my face in bed to make out all the details buuuuu-
-I switched dpad to analogue setting in retroarch and change it to the right stick to play onehanded with my left hand holding it.
I do get the 2 sticks being useless otherwise stuff tho, maybe for some PSX stuff, if retroarch really, really went deep with it's SDL2 implementation to match the heavy hitters like steam, even at the first hurdle, you could be using those sticks for any number of binds; before layers.
I think it's one of those things where you need to think outside of the box, be where the box needs to be or have experienced life outside the box first and foremost to understand why a "why the fuck did they do this" can be good. Although in this case clearly the implementation itself is lacking!

So I can kinda see the value, at the same time. I also see the value in buying like a cheap 4:3 LCD monitor or picking up an old cheap TV from freecycle and using a wireless/wired controller in bed w/ retroarch to experience the same thing with roughly the same FOV without reading glasses and without needing to map the dpad to the right stick to help my aging hand, in fact, with steaminput I could go many, many levels deeper but can my TV go in the bath u.u
