Just wait, I'll repaint Booster green and claim I've made a mod of this most legendary hero.

The plot twist comes out of nowhere after 5 hours of not even as much as a suspicion of any character development and/or its existence on Nei's part. Her chucklefuck friends just stand and watch her get slaughtered by a minor antagonist with little story relevance, who hacked the bigger antagonist to do the exact same thing that antagonist had already been doing the entire time, then all cloning facilities immediately stop working on half-humans, and then everybody goes digging through multiple dungeons for a whole heap of ancient magical artifacts that belonged to and bear the name of a genetic mistake that had only existed for a few years and who is never mentioned again.

It might be memorable for how incredibly forced it is, but even Mega Man did its tragic deaths better. The only way it can even be defended is if Sega saw the reception Final Fantasy 2 received, and had to make "tragic death" a bullet point requirement halfway into the game's development.
