Well I'm just done playing Quake 2: The Reckoning for the first time.

Fucking amazing add-on. Some of the best FPS fun I've had in YEARS. The last few maps on the moon were especially great.

Xatrix are underrated.

I'm playing Quake II: The Reckoning for the first time. The level design is great. New enemies and weapons are tons of fun too, the challenge is spot on and enemy placement is actually surpringsing and makes great use of all available enemies.
Xatrix is king anyway. Underrated FPS devs.

Quake II add-ons prove to be a lot better than the original game.

The same can be said about Quake 1. Quake 1 had good level design, but it was too conceptual. The add-ons are still as conceptual but the levels are grounded into a realistic base, something the player can project into. Plus enemy placement wasn't as unfair and annoying as in the original game; and again, the new weapons and enemies really added a lot.
