I hate how many people emulate Silent Hill. They remove the dithering, which was used for shading. Dithering was a kind of cheat to give shading better than the PS1 could do. And then people run epsxe and just remove it and reduce the visual quality of the game.

You're going about emulation in a foolish way. Emulation of the ps1 was not perfect in 2003. You should always try to use newer versions.

>I've never had any problems with it,

Which translates to "obvious game breaking problems that I notice". There's going to a ton of small problems that are subtle that you don't notice.

I can tell you that the common plugins are not accurate. There's an entire generation who think that Silent Hill is SUPPOSED to look like an overly bright game, since the popular plugins just remove the dithering and brighten it up.

Most of the time it's not that big an issue. But really, why settle for low quality when there's better out there?

Post glitches or problems with emulation that you've noticed. Especially ones that are not solved. Reason is that most people experience games through emulation and they may get a distorted or inferior experience and may not even notice it.

First up. Silent Hill. This is the game running in PCSXR with internal resolution high. Notice how pale it looks. That's something that bothered me when I first emulated the game. I didn't remember the game looking so pale. I played it originally on a real hardware and a CRT tv so this was rather jarring.
