This is s-video on a large consumer trinitron. very sharp and colorful image. s-video is nearly indistinguishable from ypbpr and rgb.

Real CRTs were even more pronounced.

Why not both? Sometimes i like to see the phosphors and scanlines up close, some close ups are really beautiful

100s/120s are good entry level crts for retro. They're FD Wegas, standard def, 4:3, support component, s-vid, composite, and rf, and have a service menu. In good condition and properly adjusted picture quality is A+. Model # would be something like KV-27FS120 or KV-32FS100, ect with the first two numbers relating to screen size. Pic related is a 32FS120 over s-video. The step up from these models would be the FV300 series and FV310 series, which are a bit more difficult to find. The ##FV310s are usually regarded as the visually best consumer sd trinitron Sony released.

I own a similar model, a KV-32FS120, and it's great for retro.

I can't tell the model # for yours just by looking, but a model that big should have at least one s-video and probably one component input.

I'm never going to be able to afford collectiong for the Turbo Grafx 16 in the near future but I want to play some of these games. I have emulators for the NES, SNES, GENESIS and GB and they work fine on my PC (Which isn't that great)

My questions are, what is a good emulator for the Turbografx and will it run on my average PC?

>Is the display worse on larger TVs?
screen size is more a matter of preference than objectively correlating better or worse. there are pros and cons to both, and those pros and cons vary between person

I prefer bigger tvs, this is a trinitron kv-32fs120. I think 240p looks great with the big thick scanliiiiiiines

Pic related is from a 32FS120, big thick scanlines, great set for retro gaming. It can do 240p/480i over component, also got s-video and the standard composite and RF. You only get one set of component inputs and one s-video input though, so using a switch is recommended.

I've got a set of the Innovation brand s-video cables and they work great.

Just make sure to get them from that eBay store, there have been many anons who've ordered them off Amazon and have gotten cables with a composite out.

I have the same tv, it's what this picture is from. Big, thick scanlines for 240p content, no 480p but PS2 games look fine at 480i over component or s-video.

And lastly, a Sony Wega Trinitron KV-32FS120. This is a standard def model, made in 2005.

The scanliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiines are very prominent on Trinitrons.

Being an N64 developer was suffering.

Here's Super Mario World's title page on the same tv, also through s-video.
