Any idea in which section it would be? Somewhere in the signal path, I guess?

Yeah, I suppose trying that wouldn't hurt. I've had a look in the service manual and I've found what looks like a pot for "Vg2 Screen" and I'm guessing this is what I'm looking to adjust. This diagram would also seem to indicate that this adjustment should be either on or around the flyback, does that sound right?

I've also looked at some of the service menu settings, there's a section called "VG2 Alignment" and it contains this "cutoff" setting. Any idea what this might be or if it's related? If I adjust it, it just looks like I'm adjusting the brightness control.
