And even that is a stretch because Legends still looks very inconsistent on real hardware. A lot of the screenshots are emulators with corrections on the perspective, upscaled, etc.
I think there's a number of PS1 games that look good though, the shaky textures and more crude 3D didn't prevent me from enjoying it or the Saturn, but yeah the difference between them and N64 was clear as water to me. It's funny people just don't see it today because they basically just see all old systems (especially 3D ones) as outdated as fuck, so it boils down to meaningless console wars in the end, rather than objective talk.

N64 has good stuff going for it, but also has lower fps in open areas, and worse draw distance. Still perfectly playable though, and the graphics do look more stable, as in they're not shaking all the time and have more defined textures instead of pixelated jumbles. Probably if emulated upscaled and with hack corrections, it would probably look better than both OG ps1 and N64.
I personally replay it on N64 more often because of the quicker (or absent) loading times, and looks better than PS1 MML on a CRT imo.
How about the PSP port?

Legends on N64 has pretty bad draw distance, but it's not like the draw distance on PS1 is perfect either. Also, at least lines on N64 are consistent, instead of the wobbly stuff going on in PS1.
Also, Mega Man has legs on N64!

>Ass quality port from top to bottom
I'm not gonna say it's a good port because it isn't, but between it and PS1, I'll play it on N64. Not having load times is also a plus. PC version is the most optimal version, though (even though it also has issues).
And before you accuse me of a n64 fanboy boogeyman, I was always idort.

Eh, Mega Man 64 was a lazy port but at least Mega Man still has his legs.

>And muddy textures.
That's why I said PC has better graphics. N64's textures still look better than the jaggy on PS, though
>And worse draw distance.
True, although the original already has draw distance issues, it's just not a very optimized game in general.
>And more slow down.
ditto above
>And compressed audio.
True, the voice tracks are compressed.
>And worse controls.
Why do you lie? N64/PC version even fixes camera issues as I said, which makes controls better as a whole.

I wouldn't call it a downgrade because it still fixed camera glitches, fixed all of the Playstation's incorrect perspective jitter, and well, being on a cart, it doesn't have loading times, but it was still a very lazy job especially considering it took Capcom like 2 or 3 years, they could have done it MUCH better.

?
Mega Man Legends is an odd one... N64 version actually looks better as it has correct perspective and fixes many of the glitches from the original, including camera issues, but it runs slower on open areas like the towns and stuff (runs fine in actual dungeons, though), and they removed the music CDs from the music shop.
The PC version would be the definitive if you ignore that cutscene audio is not in sync with the video.
n64 version still has the advantage of being on cart, thus not having loading times, though. Also, it was mysteriously uncensored in the US version (cat girl magazine on N64, action hero magazine on PS1)

>Vaseline
Use a CRT to display it at its correct resolution
The pseudo-cel shaded graphics look better when they're anti-aliased. PC version also uses the N64 version as a base, but it has even better resolution for textures. As other anon said, the problem with PC version is audio desync during cutscenes.

MML was on N64.
The N64 was capable of better 3D than PS (no surprise, it was released almost 2 years later).
Look at the drago screenshot third from the left on the 2nd line, that looks far more complex than any models on MML, which is all overly square. All models on Mother 3 look rather rounder, except for some pointy limbs and hands.

The problem with the PS1 is the same as always: incorrect perspective and warping textures.
PC version looks better, but between N64 and PS, I'll keep N64.

I don't think there is that much of a difference. The only reason you think PS1 is "crisp" is because of the untiltered textures, but they make graphics come out awfully, compare the face of the robot on this screen. Anti-aliasing makes the textures blurrier, but also more defined.

N64 if you want no loading times, otherwise PC if you can cope with its audio synch issues during cutscenes.
PS version is the worst one with the most glitches, not to mention the whole wobbly textures and incorrect perspective issue.
