/vr/ - Retro Games

As a buyer, I've had sellers flake. Have said I wanted this item, the whole lot, whatever, at their price and they never text to meet up, tell me they have something to do blah blah.

When they respond and tell me when and where to go, I go, take cash, be respectful and prompt. Has net me some bargains and gotten some extra holdouts sold to me because I was not autistic.

Buying lots do have some goodies. I would buy lots and systems, clean it up, keep what I wanted and flip it for about what I paid for. Always kept me hunting and kept me with new content.


Having collected since 2010. And selling off since a year or so for medical bills etc. Well, these buyers are fucking retarded crybabies. Have Smash Bros Melee, not for resale. Asked $40 for it, complete and minty. Theyd offer me $5, $10 at most and throw a fit when I declined. Or want me to hold it for a week from friday, they get paid and...

Sold it on ebay for $75. Fuck it. Just print the slip out, and flag the mail box.

Had Metal warriors. Bought it from craigslist for $4. Listed it and asked $100, yeah bitch and moan. Not a bad price then. Nobody would buy it. Ever. Even on ebay.

Sold it to a local store for $60.

All the lots I listed on ebay had decent games, only lukie games bid on them. Low starting bids too, so I lost my ass there. Not the way to go, sell anything worth $20 seperately. Anything under throw in a bundle.

Listing systems. There are always assholes that only want a memory card or controller. Or tards that want me to drive 2 hours round trip for a $10 game.

You heard it here first. Ijon leaving samsara isn't the end or what caused it, but we'll look back on it as a distinct point marking the beginning of the end.

The flow of new creative content from /vr/ will slow even further.

I make a prediction that there will be no new maps/mods released here other than minor updates to existing mods.

If I'm wrong, you can bet the people making stuff here will migrate over to the zdoom or zandronum forums before long and start catering to the pubbies. You don't put hours of work into something to have it enjoyed by a dozen people at most.

People will lose interest in the threads since there's no new content being created here and the content overall for doom doesn't get released very quickly. One day, one of the threads will 404 without a new one being made, and no one will be around to see or care enough to make a new one.

And just like that, the era presence of doombros on /vr/ will be at an end. Sure, people will come on and ask how to play doom or seek recommendations, but the presence of doom on /vr/ will be as it is on /v/ now: fleeting and hounded by shitposters.
