i don't remember being that bothered by games as a kid,
ok I found doom2 creepier than duke 3d
but I'd play both happily
this was the only game I could remember that gave me creeps though, just this screen, purely cause he's staring at you.

Post some good DOS games. I'm trying to remember the ones I played, but I've played literally hundreds of them and can't remember them all. My 250 games and 1000 games CDs have long been lost.

I'll start with some I remember:

Bumpy's Arcade Fantasy: a fun arcade puzzle game

Stargoose: a difficult shmup

Gobman: one of the best Pacman clones

Master of Magic: fantasy turn-based strategy game

Hammer of the Gods: Viking turn-based strategy game

Baldies: a primitive RTS where you try to guide bald men against your opponent; IIRC they build structures and whatnot on their own, but you can pick up the baldies and also change their profession

Death Gate: a god-tier point-and-click adventure game; aside from maybe two short 3D cutscenes, the game could easily pass off as a top tier indie game today
