Again, these rules are complicated and absurd. Before it was a simple "These consoles are retro. Anything afterwards is not." Now it's this janky arbitrary shit that's confusing and weird, and I don't see how it'll be enforceable.

What about homebrew? Before homebrew for retro consoles was all greenlighted because retro console. Now, what, it's this weird "OK on certain consoles but on others it needs to pass a certain year date"? Building on that, if we're going to follow the idea of each year new stuff gets added to this board, then you've turned it from a "retro video games" imageboard, to just a "not brand new games". On surface it's the same, but it absolutely isn't.
