On replays, it becomes EXTREMELY apparent that the adventure game aspect of it on the world map is extremely tacked on and FILLER. It's cool your first time through but after that is a CHORE.

This hyperbole actually proves you're a hipster though. DKC2 is fucking peak DKC and as always, the DKC3 fanboys are fucking STUPID.

The fact that it was made by the side team at Rare and not the team that made 1 and 2 really shows. It's got great bosses and good level gimmciks, but worse music with inconsistent themes, worse animal buddies, kiddy kong, and adventure game quirks on the world map that are tedious on replays(but are pretty cool the first couple times through).

Donkey Kong Country 2 is the best game in the series, but anyone saying 3 is bad is wrong. It's a good game, just not better than 2.

OP this is a funny coincidence. I'm pretty much in the same boat is you. People used to love my collection, and now no one cares. As a matter of fact, a friend told me I was an elitist prick because I mentioned that I had a black label copy of Symphony of the Night during a conversation about the game, as he was playing it on his Xbox One and we were having a great time talking, but he got upset when I mentioned I love the game so much I still own the original.
The last time I whipped out retro games for company was when my fiance's little brother came over and eyed the SNES games, he is in high school. Said he had heard about the Super NES but never played, so I let him pick a game and he picked Donkey Kong Country 2. Ended up loving it and now owns a new 3DS with a bunch of SNES games on it.

Basically, you're going to find that it is very rare when people will actually give a shit that you own hunks of plastic but that shouldn't stop you from owning them if you enjoy it. On the flip side, selling some off isn't a bad idea if you need the money as you can always emulate. I sold my entire PS2 collection bar the Dragon Quest V remake and Dragon Quest VIII because I'm a DQ fag, but everything else is gone.

Try to be a little less materialistic while also stop giving a fuck what people think(to a degree anyway). Balance is key OP.

2. Every game has flaws. Even the GOATs. The games that defined their eras. SMB, Gunstar Heroes, Phantasy Star IV, Ocarina/FF7/SM64, and the like. All of em. All of them are amazing and they all have flaws. Of course great games like LoD and FF8 have flaws.

3. I'll reiterate when I say that FF8 and LoD are great games that are worth playing through. The haters are fags that ride Spoony's dick with regard to FF8. As for LoD, I have no idea as hate for this game is a recent phenomena. FF8 divided fans on release, but iirc if you could find someone that even played LoD the most they'd say was they liked Dart, Dragons, and the paper-mario/super mario rpg esque action combat. No hyperbole back then.

Mega Man 2 is great but the alien section at the end is where it falls off a cliff. That section isn't well designed and does not feel meaningful. The boss fight is easy to boot.

Mega Man X and Mega Man 3 are arguably better. Mega Man 6 has a better final boss and even Mega Man 8 has a Wily castle every bit as good. The fact that other Mega Man 2 fans hold this as the peak of the series makes me scratch my head sometimes, but at the end of the day it deserves the hype. It's a very balanced game.
