Since anons are talking about Super Star I'll add more observations that post didn't have space to include. One thing I loathe about Ultra is the physics. In Ultra, they added Kirby's bounce from most games when landing from high places. Thing is, it seems intentionally missing from SNES because it just isn't condusive to gameplay. It was okay in previous games because abilities are much simpler, but as Super Star has wider movesets, it becomes a needless annoyance if you for instance want to quickly perform a grounded move upon landing. Oddly enough, helpers don't get Kirby's bounce, so as a result they feel more suited to the game than the main star. Kirby is too floaty in Ultra when he felt right on SNES - Beam Blast practically launches you to the stratosphere in Ultra where it was a more reasonable boost on SNES, and Beam is one of the premiere abilities. Level design is still designed with SNES mechanics in mind and doesn't accommodate Ultra's changes at places. Pic related is an easy example - in the second level of Dyna Blade, there should be multiple ways presented to open the castle's switch room. To the southeast, there's an optional Bio Spark room, and if you use Ninja's Quad Shock on an adjacently-placed enemy, you can hit the Bomb Block and enter the door. In Ultra, this no longer reaches and the game fully expects you to swallow Simirror and use Mirror's Reflect Force, discouraging any pesky out-of-the-box experimentation. I don't know if these things are oversights, but either way, big disagree.
Since someone mentioned Kaboola, I'm reminded that "Kabula" is also on my personal list of idiotic translations (it's from KABOOM and has nothing to do with Kabu), but in general, I don't get the argument for the upgraded versions of King Dedede and Meta Knight (better known as Masked Dedede and Galacta Knight) - it's not 2008 anymore, and those same boss battles have been done far better in subsequent games, with uncompressed themes to boot.
