He not only had his Saturn game, he had a PC utility/biography CD, an audio cd with his theme song, another one with a remix theme, an action figure, a VHS tape, and that's just from the top of my head.

Yeah, he was fucking popular in Japan. Also, if you finished Sonic Adventure, remember that stupid scene in the end where immediately before he turns Super Sonic, you get a crowd cheering him even though there are maybe 5 people present only? That's actually a recording from a game show, the audiences response to Segata coming on the floor.

There are a couple of SNES games which rape any single Genesis game (but not, say, two good Genny games at the same time), but DKC is definitely ain't one of them.
