What if the reaction to ruin the controller is caused by your subconscious trying to make you stop playing video games by destroying your means of doing it?

I'm new to the series so I've been looking for some advice on which one to start out with. I've heard Symphony of the Night is better than everything that came before it, but also that Super Castlevania 4 would be a pretty good choice too. What do you think, /vr/?
