Continuity is verrrry selective, like the NES Bomberman is basically only relevant to Bomber Boy (the connection is vague but it basically seems like the main character is a new one named "Kid" who's apparently the son of the original Bomberman/Lode Runner and is going around liberating more robots). PC Engine Bomberman more or less started a new (albeit loose) loose continuity as the main series. Then there's Jetters and Land that seem to be their own things, the weird Pocket->Wars->World trilogy that suggests the Bombermen were always the planet's native lifeforms instead of lifelike robots (even though it's implied to tale place after the events of Super 4, where the Bombermen WERE robots), and other one-offs like B-Daman. Then in one of the GB games, they have Bomberman's "grandfather", Indy Bomber, who basically seems like a reinterpretation of the original home computer "Bomber Man" character. Basically continuity is whatever the creators feel like referencing willy-nilly.
