Like DQII, DQVI kind of falls away in the second half of the game. The first half is fine since it focuses on collecting your party and doing usual DQ fun things. But you eventually find most of the locations and the party members don't get any more attention. The last half becomes mostly filler quests and leveling before the final boss.

Still a decent RPG, but not as memorable as the other DQ games.

visit the towns first and buy whatever equipment you can get, then explore caves. rinse and repeat until you reach a town where you can buy keys. go to the older towns to unlock doors and treasure chests from there on is just grinding and boss fights
