Wrong, but at the same time, it is rather unmemorable, and its secret level is trash.

Fuck off, Unholy Cathedral can suck my nuts but every other map in that episode earned its place, sans E3M2 and 3. Yeah it is hit and mis, but not that bad.

Turn down the difficulty if you can't enjoy them. It literally gets easier as you move through the episode and yeah it's hard, but there's like only one bad map.

Quick inquiry.

I'm using ZDL to load in a coctail of stuff.

An OBLIGE'D megawad.
Metadoom v2.1 Olivia (with optional pk3).
and Synthdoom.pk3

Things load up alright, but the Synthdoom.pk3, which replaces map music with random synthwave, fails to work and original doom 2 music plays. Works fine on its own. Tried fucking with the load order but nothing seems to make a difference.

Any idea as to what I can do from here?

Yep, that's pants-on-head retarded. A mappers greatest sin when it comes to exploration. Also the mapset, though, not the mod. But since Mark designed the maps, he can take that hit.

People enjoy the mod because it gives them a way they can enjoy an (in their eyes) outdated but interesting game under a new modern filter. MOAR BLOOD, MOAR GUNS, 'SPLOSIONS.

Got a few questions, /doom/. I know it sounds heretical, but I'm bored of Doom, and have been wanting to do some Quaking. I have all the Quake games (except 4) on Steam, and I have Dark Places for Quake 1.
So my question is, how do I go about using custom maps with Quake 1? What are some good gameplay mods for the Quake games? And in general, where is a good place to look for such things? I would usually check the doomworld/idgames for wads for Doom, and I would come here, or the ZDoom forums to look for mods, is there anywhere similar I can check for Quake related mods?

So...the devs and Betheshit do realize that no one is going to call this game simply Doom?

Mostly everyone will call it DOOM 4, and a select few may add a 2014/2015 at the end. That and the linear level design (unconfirmed) are the two things that are bothering me here.

They said themselves they are trying to stray from the DOOM 3 path and make it feel more like the classics. Until we see some gameplay, your word is invalid. That's assuming they aren't just speaking hebrew behind the scenes and lying to our faces about it. I'm praying they completely abandoned their "Call of Doom" project.
