I wouldn't say way better, but I do like the inventory system, the boss fights, and the overall balance of the combat slightly more. None of the enemies are total pushovers, and it makes the challenge stay at a decent level even after multiple replays.

Hexen's weapons were way more interesting, and personal opinion, but I liked Hexen's music a lot more.

D'Sparil was the best boss fight in the series, though.
