My top FF games:

>FF IX
Pros: Comfy world, PHENOMENAL soundtrack, simple but enjoyable battle and abilities systems
Cons: Story has a bit of Cerebus syndrome (starting off completely comical, then switching gears to becoming completely serious), loading times at the start of battles, deemed as casual by hardcore final fantasy marks on /vr/

Pros: Very innovative but somewhat broken levelling/abilities system, top-notch characters and story, strange but also pretty cool art direction
Cons: Needlessly confusing at times, weird, almost universally despised by /vr/ but still a good games

>FF VII
Pros: Iconic, arguably the greatest characters and story of any FF game,
Cons: Materia system is meh, the background have held up extremely well but the characters haven't which is a bit jarring, it will never ever live up to the hype you've been hearing for your whole life.
