Except they did. Thracia 776 came out in 1999, they just made it for a platform which was actually successful in Japan.

why make an n64 game when you can keep releasing super famicom games in late 1999?

Have you ever found the retail release of Fire Emblem Thracia 776, one of the last few id need to complete my fire emblem collection

The SNES/SFC had among the best RPGs of all time. The Final Fantasy SNES/SFC trilogy, Chrono Trigger, the Seiken Denetsu duo, Super Mario RPG, Lufia II, EarthBound. Just to name a few.

However, what ranks as your favorite RPG from this console, and why?

What a way to end the Super Nintendo. Brought a ton of new elements to the series without having had to use a leap in hardware prowess.

Pic related is the king of post N64 release Super Nintendo games. It is probably the pinnacle of the Fire Emblem series, and it was released when the Super Famicom was nine years old and over three years after the Nintendo 64's release.
