I'm thinking of getting a plasma for 480p on 6th gen consoles and 720p on PS3/360 as well as Blu-rays or movies on USB/SDcard.

I have heard that there are 9 generations of Plasma.
What are the major improvements or features from each generation and how can I tell what generation a Plasma TV is?

Should I get a 720p or 1080p plasma?
Does 720p image look worse on 1080p plasma?
Does 480p image look better on 720 or 1080 plasma?
Does 240p image look better on 720 or 1080 plasma?

It seems like only 50" or larger plasmas can be 1080p and many smaller plasmas are not even 720p.
I think I should ignore all plasmas less than 720p because they are low generation and have bad image processing and burn-in.
